Ex-Monastero del Carmine is a cultural property of the city due to the architectural value of the complex and the richness of the activities it hosts. Inside it is active the Teatro Tascabile of Bergamo, a historic international group, which organizes events, performances and theatrical culture activities, such as internships, conferences and seminars.
The construction of the building, which began in the 14th century and ended in the 17th century, retains the charm of the past and is characterized on the ground floor by a closter with arches supported by columns crowned by capitals and on the first floor by loggias. Around the cloister, other suggestive spaces such as the refectory, decorated with frescoes and a porch that unites it to the Church of the Carmine, with precious works of art and which preserves that atmosphere typical of monastic sanctuaries.
